Great option Mar 12, 2011
By Arthur W. Holmes Having built a new router table to replace an aging one, I had purchased a router lift that required the PC 7518. The problem was a new 7518 router, even on sale, was about $350. I checked with all local tool dealers and they actually wanted more for the motor alone, than they did for a whole new router. Only needing the motor I found this on Amazon for about $100 off the price of the whole router. It came in three days and ran just as advertised. Mounted in my new Woodpecker router lift it became one of those, "where have you been all my life" moments.

For Router Table (only?) Sep 03, 2006

"The Griz"
I've been reading router review articles and web sources for some time now. I bought this model, because the PC7518 is obviously the industry standard high-power router to stick in a router table. All the accessories, router lifts, etc. come standard for this model. For me, it's too big and heavy to use in hand, so there was no reason to get (and pay for) a fixed- or plunge-base -- I just wanted the motor, and that's what the 75182 model is. Mine is going into the router table and staying there, so it's the best choice for me.

Router Apr 20, 2009
By Matthew G. Scheininger This is the second Porter-Cable router I have had and they are great work horses. My only critique is that it is very loud. I use it on a CNC and it runs for an hour sometimes. I wish it could be made to be quieter.

second one was better Jun 10, 2008
By Russ Peterson The Porter Cable router motor took about 10 days to get here, and when I opened the box the motor was not in a Porter Cable box it was loose in a freud box and not even in a plastic bag. So some of the packing was in and around the inside of the fan motor, and also the power cord was cut by the motor moving around in the box. The second one was better but the switch and the strainrelief was not the same as the first motor. I hope the second one is a new motor.

Awsome router Feb 02, 2012
By Paul I purchased this router because I decided I wanted to make my own kitchen cabinets. I have 2 other Porter Cable routers which didn't have the HP to handle the larger bits needed for the raised panel doors. I also purchased a JessEm Masr R Lift to handle the heavy router. What a combination. The router exceeded my expectations. With the variable speed I was able to safely control the speed of the larger bits. The router had more than enough power to handle anything I could throw its way. It cut through the oak like it was butter.. The router arrived a few days later than I expected it but was extremely well packaged. This router is a real workhorse. It wasn't any louder than my other router and never over heated with constant use. I would highly recommend this router. I checked all over the internet and at other woodworking stores and couldn't find it any cheaper than Amazon. Well worth the investment.
